Stacking the Shelves (99)

StS Graphic 2016

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme, hosted by Tynga at Tynga’s Reviews, where bloggers can share the books and bookish items that we’ve bought, borrowed, or received each week.

This StS is for the past two weeks.

Gifted

My lovely OTSP Secret Sister sent me this package in November but I didn’t get it until December 9 because my post office decided to hold it 4 days longer than they were supposed to. (Thanks USPS giving my sis undue stress when she found out I hadn’t received it yet!) But at least it got to me safe and sound! The package included:
Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore
A Doctor Who 10th Doctor Funko key chain (My favorite doctor!!)
A Doctor Who Weeping Angel pen (My favorite villain!!)
A Gemina bookmark that was SIGNED by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
Some candy
And a letter from my sis
(Thank you SO MUCH sis!! You’re awesome!)

From the Library

The First Part Last by Angela Johnson (not pictured)

I already read The First Part Last and enjoyed it. It’s a selection for my book club for January. And I can’t wait to read Bitterblue! I read Graceling like 4 years ago so I think I’ll have to reread that and then read Fire and Bitterblue!

What did you guys get this week? Let me know, or leave a link to your StS post (or IMM or any other alternative) in the comments and I’ll try to stop by your blog!

Awesome haul of books this week. I see the Tenth Doctor doll. That is adorable. Heard good things about Bitterblue. I hope you love all of your new goodies.

I read Graceling a few years ago and I remember really liking it. I never got around to reading the next two books. Great haul!

OOh nice! I hate when the post office does weird crap like that! Which is partly why I am always soooo nervous when mailing things! Hope you enjoy the new reads!!

I liked Graceling, but Fire and Bitterblue are among my favorite YA books of all time. I wish that Cashore would write more! I actually got my copy of Bitterblue at BEA that first year I went. I’d gotten an invite to the Penguin Bird Bash and they had used new titles on the table as decoration, but one of the publishers said I could have grab it. :) So, it doesn’t have a slip cover, but it’s got a great history.

Let me know if and when you decided to reread Graceling and continue with the series – I’m in the same boat! That cover for Bitterblue is so pretty. Silly USPS. Don’t they know it’s a stressful time of year?! ; )
