#FitReaders is a group of book lovers who encourage each other with their fitness goals. It’s hosted by Felicia at The Geeky Blogger’s Book Blog and Jen at That’s What I’m Talking About. Go here or here for more info.

Each week, those who are participating in #FitReaders do a check-in where they share how their week went, fitness-wise. I’ll be trying to post these check-ins each week on Friday.

My Week

Okay, so this week wasn’t as great as I wanted, but I decided around Monday that I wanted my goal to not be 10,000 steps per day (like it is on my FitBit) but 5,000 steps per day. Because my average is about half of that, I thought that it would be a good early goal to shoot for. And for the next two days (Tuesday and Wednesday), I reached that goal! Thursday I had a major dental procedure and I have to take meds to make me calm for those procedures because of my major anxiety, so I was really not coherent for most of the day. But I’m going to keep trying to get to that 5,000 goal every day, and then once that goal seems easy, I’ll move it up to maybe 7,500 per day. I think right now, 10,000 per day is just too daunting for me. But I know that I’ll eventually get there!

Friday (9/2): No exercise, 2,081 steps
Saturday (9/3): Major cleaning (like scrubbing and deep cleaning) for about an hour. I think this totally counts because I was sweating up a storm! 3,782 steps
Sunday (9/4): No exercise, 2,435 steps
Monday (9/5): No exercise, 960 steps (left my Fitbit Flex off for a while!) :O
Tuesday (9/6): No exercise, 5,449 steps :)
Wednesday (9/7): Walked on treadmill for 15 minutes, then my back started really hurting so I had to stop. Wanted to go longer, though! 5,689 steps
Thursday (9/8): Had a major dental procedure and took meds to make me calm, so I was out of it for most of the day. So no exercise. 1,517 steps

Are you participating in #FitReaders, too? Let me know, and I’ll try to stop by your blog!

I think it’s a good plan to start off with a small goal then work up. I also agree that major cleaning is a workout. Good luck with your goals this week.
