#FitReaders Check-In: June 10, 2016

#FitReaders is a group of book lovers who encourage each other with their fitness goals. It’s hosted by Felicia at The Geeky Blogger’s Book Blog and Jen at That’s What I’m Talking About. Go here or here for more info.

Each week, those who are participating in #FitReaders do a check-in where they share how their week went, fitness-wise. I’ll be trying to post these check-ins each week on Friday.

My Week

So this week, I stopped doing Cize, even though I still had a week to finish up Round 2. Why did I stop? Because I just wasn’t seeing any progress. Yes, Cize helped me with my stamina. But there’s always the possibility that any exercise, if I had done it just as much as I did Cize, would have given me more stamina. I LOVE the idea of dancing as exercise, especially since I danced for 12 years, but I’m just not seeing results, and honestly, I’m not loving the program because of the format. Each workout for Cize is made up of 30-45 minutes or so of learning the moves for a routine that lasts 30 seconds to 1 minute. And then at the end, you spend 3 minutes doing the routine in its entirety, 3 times. That’s not bad for the first round, but going back and doing the workouts again, like I did? Not so fun. Or doing the advanced calendar (which is what I did for the 2nd round), where even if you get the routine down you still might have to do it again the next day? Not fun.

Anyway, I decided to stop Cize. But I’m not stopping exercising! I’ve been walking more with my family, and once my husband fixes our treadmill, I’ll be walking more on it when the weather’s not so great outside. And I found an app on our AppleTV called Zova that has some great (sometimes free) exercises.

Friday (6/3): Cize, 35 minutes
Saturday (6/4): Very busy day and unfortunately didn’t exercise! :(
Sunday (6/5): Zova Calm Energy Yoga and Zova Barre Arms, 20 minutes
Monday (6/6): Zova Calm Energy Yoga and Zova Double Down, 15 minutes
Tuesday (6/7): Walking with family, 20 minutes
Wednesday (6/8): Was planning on walking with family, but it ended up raining, so no exercise :(
Thursday (6/9): Walking with family, 20 minutes
Are you participating in #FitReaders, too? Let me know, and I’ll try to stop by your blog!

I've never heard of Cize but if you don't enjoy the routines I can understand why you'd quit it. I'll have to check on ZOVE through Apple TV. I need to switch my routines as well because just doing the same thing over and over (running for me) can get old and wear out muscle groups. Great week, Andrea!

Well, now you can use the Cize moves in your own personal dance parties!

OH… I'm going to have to check out Zova. It's an app on Apple TV? It sounds great.

Sometimes making changes to the routine and then going back helps jump start the system – so see what happens in a couple of months, if you want to try Cize again.

That's too bad about the Cize…but at least you aren't giving up exercising completely! I tend to head to the mall to walk when the weather is too bad to walk outdoors. I go early – like 5:30am and can get in a pretty decent walk – luckily it's a pretty big mall and the building is open 24/7. It's a good option instead of always walking on the treadmill at the gym – especially when I want to walk more than 5 miles – which I do pretty often!

Hope you have a great week!
