In Bed With A Game of Thrones & The Darkest Minds
In Bed With a Book (formerly known as Sundays in Bed With…) is a blog hop/meme started by my friend Kate at Midnight Book Girl, where we can highlight the book that we’re spending the day in bed reading (or the one we wish we could be reading all day in bed!).
I just started The Darkest Minds a couple days ago, and I’m really enjoying it so far. However, I started A Game of Thrones back in October, and I’m not even halfway through it yet. I had wanted to read the books for a while, but never got to them until I started watching the show in September, and then I was hooked. So I started reading the book after I got caught up with the show, but I am such a slow reader, that I knew it would take me like a month to finish one of those books. So I’ve been reading a little bit at a time, while also reading other books so that I could keep up with my review schedule.
But I found myself not really reading GoT very often, and a friend of mine gave me the idea to read at least one chapter every night before bed, so I’ve been trying to do that. And the new season starts TODAY, so I’ve been in a GoT mood, so I’ve been reading it a lot in the past few days. It’s still going to take me forever to finish, but I’m okay with that.
I have pool league (I’m on an amateur team) on Sundays, so I never get too much reading time on Sunday anymore, but I hope to get at least some reading done today!

April 6, 2014 at 3:17 pmGOT is SO LONG. Seriously, I listened to the audio–it was like 30 hours! I'm still halfway through the third book, but it stressed me out a lot and then I gained weight because I was stress eating and skipping the gym to get ice cream and listen, and it was just bad. I'm about to go back and see if I can handle finishing the series. LOL. :)

April 8, 2014 at 3:07 amI spent my Sunday with Melissa & Joey since I wasn't ready to face The Doctor yet.
My family was all a buzz at dinner last night because they couldn't wait for GoT to start. Don't give up on finishing the book! Just keep moving through it a little at a time!
