2014 Book Blogger Love-A-Thon: Book Valentines

The Book Blogger Love-a-Thon is an event where we can share our love for our fellow book bloggers! The event is hosted by Alexa at Alexa Loves Books and Katelyn at Kate’s Tales of Books and Bands.

This mini challenge is Book Valentines, where we write our book boyfriend/girlfriend a love letter.  I’m excited to see everyone’s letters!

I have a couple book boyfriends, but I’m not super-duper in love with them, nor do I feel like I know them enough to write them a love letter.  However, I do feel there is one literary boy who deserves a love letter right now, so this one is to him, even though it’s not a typical love letter…

Dear Ron Weasley,

You’re not really my book boyfriend.  Heck, you’re not even my favorite character from Harry Potter.  But you’re my 2nd favorite! And being 2nd favorite in my absolute favorite series ever is pretty damn good!  I mean, how many characters are in that series, anyway?  But anyway, even though I don’t have all the feels for you in that romantic way, I thought you might need some love right now.

I always supported your relationship with Hermione.  And I know that right now, people are talking all about how it was more literary for her to end up with Harry, and I totally support the fact that Hermione was such a strong, independent character that she could have ended up with no one and still would have been completely fine.  But I think that you deserve someone like Hermione.

I mean, opposites attract, right?  You’re totally laid-back and didn’t really care about things like school or grades, and she was that crazy overachiever student.  You came from a huge family and she was an only child.  You’re always the one to crack a joke and she’s mostly serious.  But those things balance each other out!  Having things in common is important, but variety is the spice of life!

And let’s not forget all your wonderful attributes.  Your love of family, your devotion to your friends, your humor and your courage.  I mean, I know how much you hate spiders but you followed them because Harry asked you to. And you constantly tried to cheer up your friends when they were feeling down.

So, Ron, while you’re not exactly one of my book boyfriends, if I was Hermione, or any other girl from the wizarding world, I would have loved to date you, and I would have felt extremely special to have such an honor.  Keep your chin up, mate.  You’ve still got Hermione, no matter what anyone says.  And you both should feel extremely lucky.

Yay, Ron! I always had a soft spot for Ron, because he seemed like the kind of guy I could be friends with. I definitely wanted him to end up with Hermione. It's just meant to be!

I LOVE this post! I haven't read HP but I haven't been living under a rock either so I know what's been going on with all of that. I agree, Ron does deserve a little love right now!

Aww Ron is definitely adorable! I agree with your thinking on how he's laid back and his and Hermione's personalities balance each other's well. I love your letter to him, and it's always good to remember the Harry Potter series! Ron wasn't my favorite character in the series, either, but I think he's still great, and I'm glad you wrote to him!

This is just so lovely :)

I don't care what Rowling says; Hermoine and Ron were the better ship.

Although I don't consider Ron as a book boyfriend I really love him so it's nice to see some Ron-love here :D

I love your letter to Ron, Andrea! I think Ron and Hermione are definitely a better ship than Harry and Hermione too, and Ron deserves so much love!
