Sundays in Bed With…The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer

Sundays in Bed With… is a meme/feature started by my friend Kate at Midnight Book Girl, where we can highlight the book that we’re spending the day in bed reading (or the one we wish we could be reading all day in bed!).

I’m spending this Sunday in Bed With…

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I have had this book FOREVER, and I’m FINALLY reading it!  But I have to say, it’s not going so well so far…  I’m reading very slowly and I’ve already got some ranting notes…  I really hope it starts to pick up soon, because this book is supposed to be right up my alley.

What are you spending this Sunday in bed with?  Let me know in the comments, or leave a link to your post if you’re participating in this meme and I’ll stop by your blog!

Uh oh — is this the first book in the series? I can't keep the titles straight. I have to say, I liked the second one MUCH more. But I think this book is one of those that provokes strong opinions….

Well… I hope it gets better for you. Though I can understand that it's not for everybody. It's kind of dark and twisted and creepy.

PS. Your cat is so pretty. Looks like a good reading snuggler. : )

It will pick up! This book gets better as you read. I loved it. I hope you enjoy it and it gets better for you! It is kinda of a dark and twisty book, and I agree with Jen Ryland…the second one rocked my world. Either way I can't wait to see what you think.

I'm sorry you're not loving this. I hope it gets better for you, but if not we can still be friends ;)

I loved the first one but I agree that the second one was a bit better.

I actually didn't enjoy this one as much as I thought I would, I was expecting a lot from it after hearing that so many loved it. The book does pick up at the end with some interesting developments. I totally agree that there are many things worth ranting about with this book. Hope it gets better for you though!

Your cat is adorable! This book has been on my to-read list for a while but I don't actually know anything about it. I've heard good things but I tend not to want to know a whole lot about a book before I begin. I hope you're enjoying it and had a great weekend :)
