Top Ten Tuesday (12): Favorite Romances
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic. I’m a huge fan of lists, so this meme is right up my alley!
This week’s topic is Top Ten Favorite Romances. I wasn’t really sure if this meant romance novels or couples, but I decided to go ahead and list my top ten favorite couples. Here they are, in no particular order:
Harry Potter & Ginny Weasley (Harry Potter series, of course)
I know some people totally shipped Harry and Hermione, but I always saw them as friends, so I was excited when Harry and Ginny finally got together. They were a great couple.
Ron Weasley & Hermione Granger (Harry Potter series)
One of my favorite parts of the entire series is when Ron and Hermione got together. It was like, FINALLY!
Jessica Darling & Marcus Flutie (Jessica Darling series)
I’m not sure why I like this couple so much, but I just do. I’ve only read the first three books in the series, and I’m kind of worried about what might happen to their relationship in the last two books, so I’ve put them off. But I will read them someday!
Zuzana & Mik (Daughter of Smoke & Bone series)
Zuzana quickly became my favorite character in that series, and in Days of Blood & Starlight, she and Mik became one of my favorite couples. I think Zuzana may be one of my favorite characters of all time.
Hazel & Augustus (The Fault in Our Stars)
Ah, such a sad story, but their relationship was so wonderful and heartbreaking at the same time. I can’t wait to see them on the big screen when TFiOS is adapted into a movie.
Kat & Hale (Heist Society series)
I own the second book in the series (Uncommon Criminals) but I have only read the first one so far. I need to get to that soon, because the third book just came out! But I really love Hale–he is definitely one of my book boyfriends.
Lola & Cricket (Lola and the Boy Next Door)
Cricket is another one of my book boyfriends. And his relationship with Lola is so cute! I need to reread this soon.
Griffin & Sabine (Griffin and Sabine series)
I read these books as a teenager and unfortunately haven’t read the second series with these characters, but I just love this story. It’s unique and beautiful, and I highly recommend it.
Rory & Jess (Gilmore Girls)
Yeah, I know these aren’t book characters, but for some reason, they’re one of my favorite couples of all time. And yes, I know Dean might have been nicer to Rory and she and Logan shared some great times, but I was always rooting for Jess.
Lorelai & Luke (Gilmore Girls)
This is why we need a closure movie for the awesomeness that is the Gilmore Girls–to see if Luke and Lorelai really got back together. I believe in my mind that they did, and nothing came between them ever again.
What are your favorite romances/couples? Let me know, or leave a link to your TTT in the comments, and I’ll stop by your blog!

February 12, 2013 at 6:05 amI wasn't sure if it meant romance books or couples either, but I went with couples since I don't think I read many books that would be strictly within the romance genre.
You are the first I've seen who also chose Lola and the Boy Next Door. So far Anna and the French Kiss has been widely represented. I don't know if I'm biased because I read Lola first, but I liked it better. And her. Anna has a tiny bit of an attitude.

February 12, 2013 at 11:37 amOh Ginny + Harry. Such the definition of awkward, no? But I love it. You will have to check out Eleanor & Park. My review just went live today but reading over all of these lovey-dovey couples today definitely brings them into the forefront of my mind.
Obviously, I need to read some Stephanie Perkins. *hopes I won't get shunned…*

February 12, 2013 at 3:20 pmRory & Jess and Luke & Lorelai! I was re-watching some old episodes of Gilmore Girls a few months ago and realised how much I missed it…it's funny too because it's also re-watching it now that I became an absolute fan of Rory & Jess. Great list!
Here's my TTT for this week =)

February 12, 2013 at 3:36 pmHurray for Lola & Cricket! Such a good book. I really debated whether to include Hazel & Augustus, but didn't want to start crying again! Nice list!

February 13, 2013 at 7:22 pmI know, they need to make a Gilmore Girls movie! Jess was Luke's nephew right? I guess he was nice and you could tell he liked her but I think I prefer Logan
Kate Midnight Book Girl
February 18, 2013 at 6:18 amI was a Logan fan on Gilmore Girls, but mostly because I came late to the show, so I watched more of the new ones with Logan before Jess or Dean- so to me Logan was Boy #1, and I usually root for Boy #1- Dawson's Creek broke my heart when Dawson and Joey weren't the endgame.
And I am a bit of a Harmony shipper- but mostly because of the movies- I think Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have some very good onscreen chemistry- in the books, not so much.
Zuzana and Mik are amazing- love that they made your list!!!
