Book Blogger Love-a-Thon: Mini Challenge #2
The Book Blogger Love-a-Thon is an event where we can share our love for our fellow book bloggers! The event is hosted by Alexa at Alexa Loves Books and Katelyn at Kate’s Tales of Books and Bands.
I’m so excited about this second Mini Challenge! It’s Book Spine Poetry, where you make up a poem with only the titles of books. I did a similar challenge during Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-thon last year, and I loved it!
So here’s my poem for this mini challenge. I may have gone a bit overboard…
I know that’s hard to read, so here’s the poem:
A long way down Jellicoe Road
the year of the flood.
The magicians, Eve and Adam;
the giver, the thief,
angels and demons.
The bad beginning:
the lying game, the dead-tossed waves,
imaginary girls, the forgetting room.
The last battle:
life as we knew it catching fire.
The future of us
inside out, outside in.
All these things I’ve done shatter me.
What’s left of me if I stay?
Shade, envy,
fire, venom.
A great and terrible beauty.
–Breathe–
Love is the higher law.
I know, some emo shiz huh? ;) And I just have to add the one that I did last year for the readathon. I know it doesn’t count for this mini challenge but I just love it so I wanted to share.
This one was supposed to be a book sentence, and it reads: “Never let me go when love dies; under the dome, under the never sky.”
So I might be asleep when this post actually goes up, but when I wake up I’m looking forward to seeing everyone else’s book spine poetry!

February 23, 2013 at 1:05 pmAndrea, I love your poem and book sentence!!! If I weren't in a hurry to get ready for work right now, I'd make one up myself. My favorite part of the poem:
life as we knew it catching fire.
The future of us
inside out, outside in.
All these things I've done shatter me.
What's left of me if I stay?
