Stacking the Shelves (18)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme, hosted by Tynga at Tynga’s Reviews, where bloggers can share the books and bookish items that we’ve bought, borrowed, or received each week.

This StS is for the past two weeks.  (*I actually bought all of these before January 1st, so they all [exept Jellicoe Road and The Year of the Flood, because I’ve already read them] can count towards the Mount TBR Reading Challenge.)

Christmas Gifts

My parents got me a Barnes & Noble gift card, and with it, I bought:
Uglies: Cutters by Scott Westerfeld
Black City by Elizabeth Richards
Venom by Fiona Paul

I also got some money for Christmas and went a little crazy at Half Price Books.  Okay, a lot crazy. I bought:
Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart
Blood Red Road by Moira Young
The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg
Smart Girls Get What They Want by Sarah Strohmeyer
The Future of Us by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler
Love is the Higher Law by David Levithan
The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood
Little Brother by Cory Doctorow
The Iron Thorn by Caitlin Kittredge
Behemoth by Scott Westerfeld
Goliath by Scott Westerfeld

I’ve already read (and loved) Jellicoe Road and The Year of the Flood, but I wanted to own them, so I was excited to find them at Half Price Books.

What did you guys get this week?  Let me know, or leave a link to your StS post (or IMM or any other alternative) in the comments and I’ll stop by your blog!

Nice haul! Isn't it amazing to go to a bookstore and bring back a whole stack of books?! It's a long time ago since I did that. I've been looking forward to read Venom. I hope to buy it soon!
    Enjoy your new books :)

I'm currently reading Jellicoe Road! And you know what, I don't really know you that well, but go read it first! It's amazing and very quick read if you can get through it. Also, Venom, that book sounds so good. Ugh! Amazing stack. Enjoy reading them books!

Love it! I am so bad about buying books. I'm keeping a spreadsheet so I can see how much I spend and what influences my buying. I'm almost excited for 2014 when I can see the results. :)

VENOM!! woot woot! Jellicoe Road is one that I've heard is pretty good. As well as The Future of Us. And I believe I have read The Iron Thorn – if it's the one I'm thinking of, then it's pretty good! :)
