2012 Reading Challenges Attempted

Hello, everyone!

It’s a new year, and with it come New Year’s Resolutions and new reading challenges!  So I’m writing 2 different posts this week all about reading challenges and resolutions.  This post is all about the 2012 reading challenges I attempted, and I’ll have another post up tomorrow about the 2013 reading challenges I will attempt, as well as my 2013 bookish resolutions.

2012 Reading Challenges

I participated in 4 reading challenges in 2012, one of which is a perpetual challenge (so even though I didn’t read anything for it, I don’t consider it a failure).  I completed 2 out of the other 3 challenges.

Goodreads 2012 Reading Challenge

I set myself a goal of 80 books in 2012, because in 2011 I read 75.  But since I started my blog in January of 2012, my already slow reading slowed even more.  I ended up reading a total of 53 books in 2012.  I hope to read more in 2013.

Read entire Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich between January 1, 2012 and ??? (Perpetual Challenge – No End Date)
Hosted by Darlene at Darlene’s Book Nook

Challenge Progress: 0/22 books

Books Read

I technically have read One for the Money and Sizzling Sixteen, but I plan on rereading them, so I’ll add them to the list once I reread them.  This is the perpetual challenge, so even though I didn’t read any books towards this challenge in 2012, I can try again in 2013.

Well, there they are.  I think I did pretty well, considering it was my first year with my book blog and only my second year participating in a reading challenge.

What challenges did you attempt in 2012?  How well did you fare?  Let me know, or if you wrote a similar post, leave a link in the comments and I’ll stop by your blog!

You know what impresses me the most? How many of the books you read that you actually reviewed! That is my biggest resolution in 2013, to review more of what I read, and quicker, than I did in 2012. I started 2012 reviewing everything, but I'm giving myself permission to not review the books I don't feel I have a lot to say about and move on. But I want to review at least 80% of the books that I read this year.

It's still weird to think you haven't been blogging forever, you've come such a long way already! I feel very fortunate to have you in my circle of blogging friends!

I loooove Stephanie Plum. And I want to reread more books this year than I did in 2013.

I agree with Kate! I've really got to get better about reviewing the books I read! Way to go my friend!
