Waiting on Wednesday (14): Fuse by Julianna Baggott

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week:

Fuse (Pure #2)
Julianna Baggott
Release Date:  February 19, 2013
by Grand Central Publishing

When the world ended, those who dwelled within the Dome were safe. Inside their glass world the Pures live on unscarred, while those outside—the Wretches—struggle to survive amidst the smoke and ash.

Believing his mother was living among the Wretches, Partridge escaped from the Dome to find her. Determined to regain control over his son, Willux, the leader of the Pures, unleashes a violent new attack on the Wretches. It’s up to Pressia Belze, a young woman with her own mysterious past, to decode a set of cryptic clues from the past to set the Wretches free.

An epic quest that sweeps readers into a world of beautiful brutality, Fuse continues the story of two people fighting to save their futures—and change the fate of the world. (Cover & synopsis from Goodreads)

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Pure (my review here), and I keep thinking of this story as I read other dystopian and post-apocalyptic novels.  I really can’t wait to see what else happens in this series!  Luckily we don’t have too much longer to wait!

What book are you waiting on?  Let me know, or leave a link to your WoW post in the comments, and I’ll stop by your blog!

I still haven't read Pure i've been meaning to for a while now. I got a free copy from a friend but it's SO BIG. I NEED to get on that before the year ends ;) LOVE Fuse's simple & enticing cover!

I love sequels. There is something so fun about waiting for the next installment of a story you already love. :)

Ah, I need to get to Pure! This cover is even more intense than the first book and it looks great. Just a couple more months!

I did like Pure and will probably get to this sequel. Love the cover so much! Pure's cover just looked to much like so many other covers this past year, but Fuse, while it matches Pure, looks fresh.

I never read Pure but it sounds really familiar…

I can't decide if I like that cover or not…
