Waiting on Wednesday (12): Shades of Earth by Beth Revis

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week:

Beth Revis
Release Date:  January 15, 2013
by Razorbill

The final book in the New York Times bestselling trilogy, perfect for fans of Battlestar Gallactica and Prometheus!

Amy and Elder have finally left the oppressive walls of the spaceshipGodspeed behind. They’re ready to start life afresh–to build a home–on Centauri-Earth, the planet that Amy has traveled 25 trillion miles across the universe to experience.

But this new Earth isn’t the paradise Amy had been hoping for. There are giant pterodactyl-like birds, purple flowers with mind-numbing toxins, and mysterious, unexplained ruins that hold more secrets than their stone walls first let on. The biggest secret of all? Godspeed’s former passengers aren’t alone on this planet. And if they’re going to stay, they’ll have to fight.

Amy and Elder must race to discover who–or what–else is out there if they are to have any hope of saving their struggling colony and building a future together. They will have to look inward to the very core of what makes them human on this, their most harrowing journey yet. Because if the colony collapses? Then everything they have sacrificed–friends, family, life on Earth–will have been for nothing.

FUELED BY LIES.
RULED BY CHAOS.
ALMOST HOME. (Cover photo and synopsis from Goodreads)

I don’t know about you guys, but I just can’t wait for this book to come out! I LOVED the first two books in the series (as evidenced by my fangirly reviews here and here), and I just want to know what happens, ASAP!

What book are you waiting on?  Let me know, or leave a link to your WoW post in the comments, and I’ll stop by your blog!

I still need to read the first book in this series. I keep meaning to. It's supposed to be great.

I really love Beth Revis. Her blog is funny, I think we'd be friends in real life, and I liked her first book… but I didn't love it. I don't know if I'm going to continue with the series, part of me wants to do it just to support Revis, but the other part of me keeps pointing to the hundreds of other books waiting for me to read them.
I'm really digging the title and cover though!

I haven't read the first two books yet – I know, shame on me – but I'm equally as excited! My only question is why the divergence from those awesome covers for the first two books? This one is way off from the others! Maybe because they land, now? I dunno. I dunno enough about the series to make any inferences. Maybe I need to bump Across the Universe up my TBR. Great pick, Andrea!

I haven't read any of these books yet, but I love how pretty the redesigned covers look, and that never happens!

I'm excited about this one too. Dying to find out where this series is headed. I like the old covers better but I will not let that stop me — buying this as soon as if comes out.
