Top Ten Tuesday (8): Everyone But Me

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week there is a new topic. I’m a huge fan of lists, so this meme is right up my alley!

This week is a freebie, so I looked through the old TTT topics and chose to make a list of the Top Ten Books I Feel As Though Everyone Has Read But Me.

So here they are, in no particular order:

Classics and Popular Titles
Those books that I’m a bit ashamed that I haven’t yet read.  (For the most part.)

This is the only one on my list that I actually don’t care to read.  I have lots of friends who have read it, and plenty of them loved it, but I just don’t think I’d enjoy it.

I’m actually not sure if I’ll ever read this one.  I guess it would be nice to read it someday, but I’m agnostic, which means I don’t really believe in the Bible, so that’s a big, intimidating book, especially when I’m not really a believer.

This one I definitely want to read, and soon!  I’ve been obsessed with the web videos, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, so this one has moved up in my TBR pile!

I need to read these.  I will someday.  I read The Hobbit when I was in high school or college or something (and read it again this year–check out my review here), but I just couldn’t get into TLotR.  I will read them one day!

Everyone is constantly comparing YA books to Lord of the Flies.  And while I know its basic plot, I still feel out of the loop when people make those comparisons.  I need to read this one soon!

YA Titles
Those books that I see all the time on other YA book blogs, and I kick myself because I haven’t yet read them!

All my blogger friends and book club girls rave about this book.  I’ve owned it for a while now and it’s in my TBR pile but I just haven’t gotten to it yet!

Another one that I have to read ASAP!  This book sounds so me that it’s crazy.  And tons of bloggers absolutely LOVED it!

This is the series that I really feel like EVERYONE has read but me.  And I’ve heard fantastic things about both books, so I own them both but still need to read them!

I know all the lovers of this series were upset when the movie kept getting delayed, but I’m kind of glad it was pushed back because I really want to read at least the first book before seeing the movie!

I almost buy this every time I’m at the book store, mostly because my blogger friend Steph is OBSESSED with it.  But I own and haven’t yet read Shiver (another one that lots of people have read but I haven’t) so I’ve refrained from buying it so far.  Once I read Shiver, though, I’ll be buying it right away!

Have you read all these books?  Are there books that you feel like everyone has read but you?  Let me know, or leave a link to your TTT freebie in the comments, and I’ll stop by your blog!

I vote to make Daughter of Smoke and Bone very high on your TBR. : ) Days of Blood and Starlight comes out today and everything will get dropped so I can read it. But that's me.

If you want, I can send you my Scorpio Races. : )

You are not alone on the If I Stay/Where She Went front. I, too, am a slacker. Ashamed? Yep. But I'm hoping to rectify it soon!

I'm with you on Daughter of Smoke and Bone and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. I really want to read them, but just haven't yet. I refuse to read Fifty Shades, it just sounds horrible ;). Another I haven't read yet and I'm almost ashamed to admit: Anna and the French Kiss. I should really start reading that one!

Smoke and Bones…I hope you get to read that one! It's really good. I need to reread it though before I read the next book.

I have to agree with you on every single one of those except City of Bones which I have read, but only the first one.

All the rest I have considered reading/want to read or have to read except probably a couple like the dreaded fifty shades. However, I most certainly know your feeling!

    Great top ten.

I haven't read Daughter of Smoke and Bone either. Or Lord of the Flies. Or If I Stay. We should pick one and read it at the same time to discuss it. Maybe sometime next year though cause the end of 2012 looks to be busy for both of us!

TAKE JESSIE UP ON HER OFFER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obsessed may be putting it lightly. It's way better than Shiver, fyi, but I read Shiver when I was over paranormal romance and really getting into contemps. Also… Raven Boys. Read that. I'm going to read Pride and Prejudice soon… mostly because I love The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. But I've only read a handful of the books on your list.
