Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-Thon October 2012: My Book Pile

Hey guys!  I’m really excited to be participating in Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-Thon again this weekend!  What’s Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-Thon, you ask?  Well, you can go to the homepage for all the info, but here are the basics:

  • What: A 24-Hour Read-A-Thon, of course! And, with mini-challenges!
  • Who: Anyone can join! Sign up at 24hourreadathon.com.
  • When: This Saturday, October 13, 2012 (But the read-a-thon happens twice a year)
  • Where: At your home, your work, wherever you can read, and then participants will post about their progress and participate in mini-challenges in the blogosphere! The homepage is 24hourreadathon.com.
  • Why: To catch up on that TBR pile, meet other book lovers, or simply as an excuse to read for 24 hours!

Let me know if any of you decide to participate and I’ll be sure to stop by your blog during the read-a-thon!

Now, onto my book pile!  Unfortunately right now I have a few books that I have scheduled, so I won’t be just randomly picking books to read for this read-a-thon.  But, if by some miracle I am graced with super-speedy reading this Saturday and can get through those books, I do have a few others I can choose from then.

Scheduled books:
Blind Spot by Laura Ellen (not pictured)
Ten by Gretchen McNeil
Midnight City by J. Barton Mitchell (not pictured)
Other books:
Crewel by Gennifer Albin
Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone
Origin by Jessica Khoury
My only goal is to get Blind Spot finished and to at least start Ten.  If I can get that done, I’ll be happy!  (I’m a slow reader, so although I probably will get that goal accomplished, I probably won’t get much more done.)

So anyway, that’s my book pile!  If you’re participating, what is your pile looking like?  And be sure to let me know if you’re participating so I can be sure to visit your blog on Saturday!

And I would be remiss to not include some Ryan Gosling love in this post! Thanks again to the awesome Kate @ Midnight Book Girl for making this gem!

I'm a slow reader, too, but I have four books I really need to get through. One is slow, one is short, one I think I can skim, and one is going to be INTENSE.

Yay for book piles! Also, I am very glad that you're reading Ten soon, I'm reading her book Possess and loving it! Don't forget to link up your post to my readathon pile linky!

I am planning on doing the readathon too! I have not decided what I am going to read yet but I need to start a pile. I can't wait, it is going to be fun.

I second Kim's sentiment: "Mmmmm Ryan Gosling".

Also, great books. I have to devise my pile but picking is the hardest part. I'm always so disappointed with my readathon showing but I MIGHT have a handle on this one. We shall see. Good luck with all you've planned!

Ten by Gretchen McNeil!!! Yay! I still need to read that one. I'm a slow reader as well so I'm aiming for one book only. Here's what I'm planning on reading this weekend. :) Have a great time and best of luck!! x
