Waiting on Wednesday (10): Speechless by Hannah Harrington
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
by Harlequin Teen
Everyone knows that Chelsea Knot can’t keep a secret.
Until now. Because the last secret she shared turned her into a social outcast—and nearly got someone killed.
Now Chelsea has taken a vow of silence—to learn to keep her mouth shut, and to stop hurting anyone else. And if she thinks keeping secrets is hard, not speaking up when she’s ignored, ridiculed and even attacked is worse.
But there’s strength in silence, and in the new friends who are, shockingly, coming her way—people she never noticed before; a boy she might even fall for. If only her new friends can forgive what she’s done. If only she can forgive herself. (From Goodreads)
I am so excited that Speechless is coming out next week! And I won a preordered copy from Nina at Nina Reads and should get it sometime soon! (Thanks again, Nina!) I just think it sounds like a cool concept for a book, and for some reason I LOVE this cover. I hope I get this one rather than the other cover that has a girl with duct tape over her mouth. Either way, I can’t wait to read it!
What book are you waiting on? Let me know, or leave a link to your WoW post in the comments, and I’ll stop by your blog!

August 22, 2012 at 5:32 amIs that really the cover? It looks like an Arc. I don't even see the author's name. The story does sound interesting though. It reminds me of the book, SPEAK, in which the girl lost her ability to talk after suffering a trauma. Good choice!

August 29, 2012 at 5:19 pmI know! I thought it was the ARC but then I found out that it really is the cover. There's another cover as well, but I won a preorder of Speechless and this is the cover that I got from Amazon! I love it! It does sound like Speak. I haven't read that book but I've seen and really enjoyed the movie. Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to check out your blog! :D

August 22, 2012 at 5:37 amThis sounds REALLY good, but I'm hoping it's not a copy of Laurie Halse Anderson's Speak. If they're too similar it would really bother me. I'm adding this to my TBR list though. Great pick! Happy reading.

August 29, 2012 at 5:26 pmI haven't read Speak but I have seen and enjoyed the movie. I need to read that! Speechless, to me, sounds a bit different. But since I haven't read either book yet, I can't really say! Thanks for stopping by–I'm off to visit your blog! :)

August 22, 2012 at 6:11 amI just read a book review of this and I immediately fell in love with it. I hope I'll stay in love with it even after reading it. And I hope you'll love it too! I like this cover much better than the other cover version too!

Second – Is this comment #51 that you haven't replied to yet ;) I feel your pain (though not as much lol).

August 30, 2012 at 9:13 pmHa! Reply accomplished. However, I am now still behind with about 30 more to go since you wrote this! Aaaaaaaahhhhh! But luckily lots of them are from you, Kate, Steph, and Courtney, and I'm all caught up with your blogs, or close to it! So I can kind of see the end in my future! ;)

August 24, 2012 at 12:38 amHmm, I foresee this book making it's way to Virginia to be read by the Terrible Trio (which is a nickname I have decided, just now, to give to Kim, Steph and me).
Andrea @ The Overstuffed Bookcase
August 30, 2012 at 9:19 pmSounds like it might make its way over there. I guess I might have to let Bittner borrow it first, though. ;)

August 24, 2012 at 12:40 amOhh, or should I go with the Virginia Vixens, the Ereading Eastcoasters, the Book Hook(ers)?
