Coming Soon: His Dark Materials Readalong!
Hi everyone! Jessie from The Daily Bookmark and I loved our Catch Wither Fever Readalong so much that we decided to do it again, this time with the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. It’s coming up soon, so I just wanted to give you guys a head’s up in case you wanted to join in on the fun!
What: A readalong of the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass). Reviews, discussion posts, and a giveaway!
When: September 1 – October 31. Two whole months! But you can read at your own pace.
Who: The readalong is being hosted by myself and Jessie at The Daily Bookmark. But anyone can join in!
How: You can simply read one or more of the books along with us, or you can join in on your blog and write reviews, discussion posts, etc. There will also be a giveaway for anyone who writes at least one new review or one new discussion post! The winner will receive a $15 gift card to Amazon or a book of their choice from The Book Depository, up to $15. You can feel free to spread the word, too! If you would tweet about it, please use #HDMreadalong.
Where: The Daily Bookmark, The Overstuffed Bookcase, and your own blogs!
Why: To read a very popular series for the first time or for the fifteenth! To join in on discussions with other book lovers as they read the same books! Or to finally mark a few books off your TBR list!
We really hope that you will join us, whether you read one book or all of them, whether you stick to reading or join in on the reviews and discussions! September 1st is a week away so go get those books off your shelf, put a hold at your local library, or add to your overstuffed bookcase and buy them! We’ll have more detailed posts up on September 1st, where we’ll explain all the details! We hope to see you then!

August 27, 2012 at 2:37 amSo, I can't do this currently (trying to get a handle on time after starting a new job!) but I LOVE this idea – His Dark Materials is literally my favourite series EVER. I read the first book at age 8 and fell in love. It is truly the reason I started to love reading and writing, and I still reference it quite often on my blog and in real life. So wonderful, and I look forward to all your guys' posts during the readalong! I want EVERYONE to read this series, so I'll try to help out and promote/pimp your posts :)

I'm not sure that this book is for me cause it's fantasy and September and October are going to be crazy busy and I'm trying not to take on too much. But I will enjoy be reading your posts!
