Waiting on Wednesday (7): Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week:

Marissa Meyer
Release Date:  February 5, 2013
by Feiwel and Friends

This book will feature Cinder and Little Red Riding Hood and will take place in France.
Update

“Book two, Scarlet, is based on Little Red Riding Hood. It continues Cinder’s story as she attempts to escape Queen Levana’s vengeance and learn more about her past. The story also introduces readers to Scarlet, a girl living in southern France whose grandmother has mysteriously disappeared. In order to find her, Scarlet seeks the help of Wolf, a street fighter with more than a few mysteries of his own.” (From Goodreads)

I think lots of people will be choosing Scarlet as their WoW pick this week, since the cover was just revealed, but I seriously CAN NOT WAIT for this book.  I’m so jealous of all of you that already have ARCs!  Man, why isn’t it already 2013???

What book are you waiting on?  Let me know, or leave a link to your WoW post in the comments, and I’ll stop by your blog!

I know what you mean…once you see a book you wish for, it's hard to wait. I haven't read Cinder and Little Red Riding Hood, but I'm very tempted.

I haven't read Little Red Riding Hood either, but I love fairy tale retellings! Cinder is my favorite book that I've read so far this year, so I'd definitely recommend it! Thanks for stopping by–I'm off to check out your WoW!

My blog partner really loved Cinder so I'm sure she'll be squeeling over this book too. So is each book going to be based on like a different fairty tale? I like that idea instead of just sticking with the Cinderella theme. Great choice!

As I understand it, each book will focus on a different fairy tale character, but Cinder is seen in each one, and is the main character overall. Book 2, Scarlet, focuses on Little Red Riding Hood, book 3, Cress, is based on Rapunzel, and book 4, Winter, is based on Snow White.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to check out your WoW!

I FREAKING CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS BOOK!!! Scarlet sounds like such a cool plot premise and I was equally excited by what she revealed about Cress! I love, love, love the idea of Rapunzel being trapped in a satellite :D

I really think this is a series that I'm just going to be head over heels in love with. Sigh…
