Sundays in Bed With… (9)

Sundays in Bed With… is a new meme/feature started by my friend Kate at Midnight Book Girl, where we can highlight the book that we’re spending the day in bed reading (or the one we wish we could be reading all day in bed!).

I’m spending this Sunday in Bed With…

Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty

I just started Second Helpings and I’m really excited to read it because I really enjoyed Sloppy Firsts (my review here), and I have been craving some YA contemporaries–so much so that I decided to go on a “YA Contemporary reading binge,” starting with this book.  So for a while (I’m not sure how long, actually) I’ll be reading nothing but YA contemporary novels.  Well, I shouldn’t say nothing but YA contemporary novels, because of course I’ll have to read a few other books (like my book club books) as well, but for a while it should be mostly YA contemps for me!  (I’m actually really surprised about this whole contemp craving because my favorite books tend to be Science Fiction and Dystopian, and I really haven’t even liked contemporaries very much until lately, but now it seems like I can’t get enough of them!) And I’ve been a bit sick lately, so I hope to spend lots of time today curled up in bed reading!

What are you spending this Sunday in bed with?  Let me know in the comments, or leave a link to your post if you’re participating in this meme and I’ll stop by your blog!

There are some seriously good contemps out there. And Jessica Darling is one of my favorite. Second Helpings is my favorite of the five.

I really enjoyed the first book, and I know lots of bloggers love this series, so I just have to read them all!

I've seriously enjoyed the last couple of contemps I've read. I have yet to read the Jessica Darling series but someday…

I really used to think that I didn't like contemps at all. But it seems like that is changing! ;)

This looks really good! I don't read a lot of contemporaries but this is looking good :D I will have to check out the first book, thanks for sharing Andrea!

P.S: Sorry I haven't been around on your blog lately! Changing that now :)

I don't really read too many contemporaries, either, but for some reason I just have had this craving for them for the past month or so. So I'm going to be reading a lot of them! But I really did enjoy Sloppy Firsts a lot and I'm really loving Second Helpings even more!

And no worries! I did the same thing with your blog recently, too! ;)

As you know I love contemporaries so I fully support this! If you are looking for recommendations I know that Tracy and Mandy both love Sarah Dessen. I've only read one of her books but I loved it!

I have a couple Sarah Dessen on my TBR list! I think Tracy said her favorite was Lock & Key. You read Just Listen, right? I think I have both of those on my TBR list!

Yes, you should. I loved this book more than the first one. I'm going to be reading the rest of the series soon!
