Follow Friday (4) & TGIF (5)
Feature & Follow is a weekly blog hop hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read. It’s a great way to find new blogs to follow and allow others to find your blog! Find out how to participate here!
Summer Reading. What was your favorite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?
I believe it’s where my love for science fiction began. It’s a post-apocalyptic middle grade novel about a girl who becomes the leader of a group of children after everyone over the age of 13 has died from a global virus. The picture on the right is the cover of the graphic novel which came out earlier this year. I really need to get that!
**Note: I’m having some problems following through Google Friend Connect. My GFC picture isn’t showing up when I try to follow someone and it’s all strange. Is anyone else having this issue?**
TGIF is a weekly meme hosted by Ginger at GReads, where bloggers can recap their week and answer a blogging/bookish question.
Here’s this week’s question:
This is such a great question! There are so many books that I want RIGHT NOW, but I’ll try to limit myself to just 5.
Spark by Amy Kathleen Ryan
This one just came out last week and I haven’t been able to go get it yet. But I LOVED the first book in the series, Glow, and can’t wait to read Spark!
The Kill Order by James Dashner
I read the other books in the Maze Runner series late last year and seriously could not put them down. The Kill Order, which is the prequel to the series, comes out August 14th and I hope to get it sometime soon. However, I will be rereading the other books first so it’ll probably be a while until I read this one.
Gravity by Melissa West
This one comes out October 16th and I seriously cannot wait! It just sounds so creepy and good!
Did you participate in Feature & Follow Friday or TGIF this week? Leave a link to your post and I’ll stop by your blog, or let me know your answers to these questions in the comments!

July 27, 2012 at 5:35 amI haven't heard of this, but the premise sounds a bit like Gone by Michael Grant with some differences! Interesting.
Thanks for stopping by my FF. Followed you back.
And I love this theme. I have the other one by Nymphont. I tried picking between the two and went with the other one, but I don't know now. Yours looks so much cuter LOL.
Andrea @ The Overstuffed Bookcase
July 27, 2012 at 8:35 pmI thought the same thing when I first saw the synopsis for Gone. The Girl Who Owned a City came out way before Gone, though, like in the 1970's I think. I want to read the Gone series someday, though! :D
I thought I noticed your blog theme! ;) Nymphont has some great ones! Thanks for stopping by and following back!

July 27, 2012 at 11:02 amI have never heard of The Girl Who Owned a City, but I do love dystopian. For me, The Great Gatsby is #1, followed by To Kill a Mockingbird.
I still need to read the maze runner series. I love the cover for Gravity but idk if I want to read it, and of course I'd take Pivot Point. :)
Andrea @ The Overstuffed Bookcase
July 28, 2012 at 10:48 pmI didn't read The Great Gatsby or To Kill a Mockingbird until last year! I'm not sure how I got around reading them… I did like them, though!

July 27, 2012 at 2:55 pmThe Girl Who Owned a City sounds like something I would have loved in middle school! I might even pick it up now :) It reminds me of when I had to read a pioneer book in school where their wagon gets attacked by Indians and everyone is killed except the children, who then have to make the journey on their own. I think it was called Saving Queen Sheba or something like that. New follower! Drop by for a visit at http://fortheloveofliterature.com/ and follow if you like :)
