Cover Reveal: The Collector by Victoria Scott

I am super excited to be a part of the cover reveal for Victoria Scott’s upcoming YA novel, The Collector, which I can’t wait to read!  Plus, it’s my very first cover reveal here on The Overstuffed Bookcase!  Yippee!

So, without further ado, here it is:

About The Collector

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence have made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple, weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.

Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal opportunity collector and doesn’t want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:

Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within 10 days.

Dante doesn’t know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky, Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect—he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector, and uncover emotions deeply buried.

You know with out seeing his face you don't know for sure, but he doesn't look like a teen to me.

He does look a bit older! But maybe this is considered one of those "New Adult" books? Like maybe he's in his late teens or early twenties? I'm not sure!

I'm kind of torn. The cover looks fine, it kind of reminds me of a lot of other YA books out there, but not necessarily in a bad way. I really like the description of the books but some of those quotes…I'm just not so sure. It definitely sounds like the kind of book Steph would drool all over though!

I know that the author really likes humor, and I'm thinking that maybe the quotes are kind of a humorous take on the kinds of one-liners that are so sappy in movies and TV shows. Or maybe Dante Walker is just a really arrogant guy? Either way, I think this book will be really funny!

The Collector looks good, but I'm a little disappointed to see the release date isn't until 2013! That's a long ways away.
