Go Team Amity!

I’m sure most of you know about all this faction stuff going on in preparation for the release of Insurgent by Veronica Roth, but in case you don’t know, here’s a little info.

Insurgent, the second book in Veronica Roth’s Divergent series, is being released on May 1st by Harper Teen.  In the past couple of weeks, 50 blogs were sent ARCs of Insurgent, and were each sorted into one of the five factions from the world of Divergent.  5 of those bloggers were selected as faction leaders, and the other 45 are faction members.  Each faction is now doing their part to promote Insurgent, and are having lots of great giveaways and promotions.

I wasn’t one of those lucky bloggers to receive an ARC, but I found myself drawn to the whole thing anyway.  I LOVED Divergent when I read it last year, and I plan on re-reading it soon before I read Insurgent.  (Which is cool, because then I’ll get to have a review of Divergent on my blog, because I really don’t like to go back and review things I read a long time ago.  But since I’m rereading, it’ll all be fresh in my mind!)

So I thought, well, I’ll start following a faction.  And it took me no time at all to realize which faction I would choose if I was in Tris’s place:  Amity.  Peace, love, equality, understanding, kindness – that’s what I’m all about.

But I also took the Divergent Aptitude Test (or Faction Quiz) on Facebook, just to be sure, and it confirmed my suspicions.  I’m totally Team Amity!  If you’re not sure which faction you’d belong in, I suggest taking that aptitude test, although I know some people have disagreed with how they were sorted.

Anyway, I signed up to be a part of Team Amity, and I’m helping to promote the faction and Insurgent.  And it would be great if you guys could help us out!  Come on, you know you want to hang out with us – we’re the relaxed kids in the park playing hackey sack or laying in the grass with a good book. Plus, there are giveaways!

So here’s what you can do to help Team Amity.  Click on both of these links. Like every day.  It’ll help a lot.

You can also show your Team Amity love by tweeting with the hash tag #TeamAmity.

And check out these awesome giveaways going on right now by Amity faction members!

Want to join Team Amity like I did?  Simply fill out this form over at All Things Urban Fantasy (It’s the same form on all the Team Amity members’ sites.)

Thanks so much for your help!  Team Amity is all about sharing the love!  :)

I keep seeing references to all this, but I'm still slightly confused! But you're post has been the clearest I've seen. So, basically I can pick a faction and "support" it, even if I'm not an officially picked blog?

Yes! That's how I understand it at least. If you click the links, it helps Team Amity win some kind of contest on which faction can create the most traffic. I'm not sure what the prize is for the faction who wins, but each faction is having tons of giveaways, and if you join a faction and promote it like I did, you can earn extra entries into their giveaways. At least, you can in Amity, but I'm sure most of the factions have the same kind of things going on.

Oh, awesome! It looks as if Amity has great prizes, but I'm joining Erudite out of loyalty! (The official quiz says I'm Dauntless, but I'm doubtful. All it would take to defeat me would be a spider.)

LOL! Yeah, another blogger friend was sorted into Candor and she didn't think that was right, seeing as how she lied in that one part where it asks you if you would lie or not… ;) Have fun in Erudite!

The quiz told me I was Candor… honestly, I was kind of surprised, but it fit when I thought about it. I'm excited for Insurgent!

Me too! I guess I'll be adding Divergent to my TBR pile for this month, so I can reread it before Insurgent comes out!

And by "Me too" I mean that I'm excited for Insurgent. I just realized that it might have sounded like the quiz sorted me in Candor too. But nope, it told me I was in Amity! ;)

I got Candor the honest! I have no idea what that means because I haven't read Divergent yet, but that will definitely make it interesting when I actually do read the book!

Jeremy took the test and he got Dauntless. He just started reading the book, too. You should try to read it soon and then you can read Insurgent when it comes out. I'll most likely be reading it pretty soon after it comes out!

I got Candor and I was a little surprised by that since I lied to the Old Lady. I don't really know where I fit, but I do know that I would not ever be Dauntless or Abnegation. Maybe I'll take the test again.

Jen from YA Romantics had the same thing happen to her! She was like, "Um, I lied to that lady… How can I be Candor?" ;) So I guess it's not a perfect test…
