Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-Thon: Let’s Get This Party Started!
So I got to a late start this morning. My son normally wakes up around 7 am (which was the readathon start time for me), so I figured I’d get up then and be able to start pretty quickly. But he chose to sleep in today! But it might have been for the best, because I stayed up a bit late and it probably was good for me to sleep in a little. But I’ve had some breakfast and now I’m ready to get to it!
Let’s get to those introductory questions!
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
Oklahoma, United States
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I’m looking the most forward to Uglies: Shay’s Story (the Uglies manga) by Scott Westerfeld. I loved the Uglies series and this will be my first foray into manga, but I love anime so I think it’ll be great! (Check out my readathon TBR pile.)
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Now here’s where I’ve failed already. I didn’t go out and get specific snacks (even though I thought about it beforehand), but I do have some snacks at home already. I’ve got some chewy chocolate chip cookies, some chips, and a few other things. Not sure what I’m most looking forward to, though.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I’m a 30-something wife and mother (my son is 2 1/2) and I stay at home with my son. I love to read (obvs) and write and I also play pool. I’ve been playing on a team now for about 8 years and it’s a lot of fun! My book blog is pretty new (I started in January) but I’m loving it! I read mostly YA so my reviews reflect that, but I also occasionally throw in an “adult” book here and there. Oh, yeah, and I would be remiss to leave out the fact that I am a Harry Potter nerd, a Dr. Pepper addict, and a Nerdfighter. (DFTBA!)
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This is my very first readathon! I’m most looking forward to the reading, but also looking forward to meeting some other awesome bloggers!
I plan on posting every few hours, so feel free to stop back by and check out my progress! I hope to visit a lot of blogs today! Oh, and I’ve just got to share this lovely readathon “Hey Girl” again! It was made by the awesome Kate @ Midnight Book Girl.
Good luck everyone and Happy Reading!
